FAQs

Q: What makes Mingos unique?

A: Mingos are the first ski poles that are entirely modular. Select your pole design, grip color, basket color, and strap color to build your dream pole. Swap the grips, baskets, and/or straps in seconds for a new look!

Q: Are the straps adjustable?

A: Yes…and easily removable to swap out for a new color!

Q: How do I know what size I need?

A: Pole length is a preference depending on your comfort, but largely determined by your height. See size chart below.

Q: What are the poles made of?

A: Poles are Aluminum 6061, making them lightweight, strong, and corrosion resistant. They include a steel tip to easily plant in the snow. Grips and baskets are rubber.

Q: What’s the difference between an aluminum and bamboo ski pole?

A: Bamboo poles are much heavier than aluminum…and not as colorful!

Q: How do I swap my grips?

A: Find something small, such as a pencil or small screw driver, and use that to lightly push the two pins on the side of the grip. The pin cap will start to come out on the other side of the grip. Pull the pin cap out. Turn the grip counterclockwise to unscrew the grip from the pole. Pull grip off pole. Slide new grip onto pole (make sure pin cap is out). Turn grip clockwise to thread the grip onto the pole. Push pin cap back into grip to secure grip and strap.

Q: How do I swap my straps?

A: Find something small, such as a pencil or small screw driver, and use that to lightly push the two pins on the side of the grip. The pin cap will start to come out on the other side of the grip. Pull the pin cap out. Pull strap out of slot. Place new strap into grip slot with loop aligned horizontally with pin hole. Push pin cap back into place to secure new strap.

Q: How do I swap my baskets?

A: With pole upside down, simply turn the basket counterclockwise to unthread the basket from the thread piece. Slide the old basket off and the new basket on. Then turn the new basket clockwise onto the thread piece until fully secured.
